Satyana Meets Her Mother

On March 24th, 2009, Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof welcomed onto the planet Satyana Marie Denisof, a beautiful dark-haired baby girl, weighing in at 7lbs. 14 oz. and 22 inches. I'm sure Aly and Alexis have enjoyed their first week of one-on-one time with their new daughter.

As far as we know, Satyana, mom and pop are doing well. With Aly's birthday also on March 24th, I'm sure she couldn't have asked for a more perfect birthday gift.

Welcome to the world, Satyana, and cheers to your new family.

Aly's completed another orbit around the sun, and in no way is that meant to be a comment on her baby-induced girth. Thanks for all the laughs you've given us over the last year on How I Met Your Mother and we look forward to another year with many new exciting events on the horizon!

Aly = stoned Koala bear?

Aly appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show on Friday, January 30th to talk about her pregnancy. In addition to her cravings of meat and cheese (before her pregnancy, Aly was a vegan) and Ginger ale; Aly stated she has "pregnancy brain", which she said "I never realized was a thing but it is."

"I sort of feel like a Koala bear where I'm slightly stoned all the time and I'll say the wrong word," said Aly on the show. She also talked mentioned that she and Alexis know the gender of the baby, but are keeping the news a surprise until the birth.

Aly off the vegan wagon, for now

Now that she's eating for two, it seems that Alyson's baby is on a meat and cheese diet. "I basically went from being a vegan to ... well, now it's meat and cheese -- and ginger ale!. ... I didn't eat any meat or cheese before. Now, I have to." said Aly in this short, but interesting article.

Aly attributes her craving for Ginger ale to heredity. Her mom craved Ginger ale as well when she was pregnant with Alyson.

Aly gets a raise

After months of negotations, Alyson and her co-stars in CBS's How I Met Your Mother were rewarded with an increase in salary of up to $120,000 per episode.

The show's producer, 20th Century Fox TV agreed to the higher salaries due to the show's consistently high ratings and strong syndication sales. Compared to other popular shows, it's not a massively huge raise, but on average, the cast will be making between two and three times what they made before the renegotiation.

The new deals are retroactive to the beginning of the season and also add another year to Aly's original seven-year contract. If the ratings remain solid, that means we could have an extra year of Aly as Lily!

Aly is Pregnant!

The exclusive announcement was made to People magazine that Alyson and her husband, actor Alexis Denisof are expecting a child this spring.

The "big" news was hinted at on the AHAS Forums on Monday. Speculations did tend toward the pregnancy angle and now the truth is known. The couple is ecstatic about the news.

Alyson met Alexis on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and were married in 2003.

Who represents women in late-night arena?

Aly made an appearance at the Los Angeles Film Festival (June 19-29) on a discussion panel with Jennifer Tilly, Janeane Garofalo and Illeana Douglas. Defamer.com was there and posted the exchange when the talk turned to the lack of females hosting late-night talk shows.

Ms. Hannigan didn't see the slight as intentional, but some of the other panel members did.

'Mother' season finale tonight and USAToday article

The season finale of How I Met Your Mother airs tonight, May 19, 2008 on CBS. This will be your last chance to see Aly in something new until the series picks up again in the fall. Entitled "Miracles", the episode airs at 8:30 p.m. et/pt.

The USAToday site has a nice article on Alyson, covering various subjects including the season finale, where we will see more of Lily and Marshall dealing with their financial woes; Britney's appearance (of course); her marriage with Alexis and summer plans to visit his family on the east cost; and her shopping habits, and do they parallel Lily's.

How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he met his wife. The episodes are told in flashback from the future where Ted is telling his kids the story of how they met. Set in present day, it also stars Neil Patrick Harris as Barney, Jason Segal as Marshall, Ted's best friend and his wife Lily (Alyson Hannigan).
